In March of 2007, Tim O’Reilly founder of O’Reilly Media assembled a list of seven ideas to serve as a code of conduct directing bloggers’ posts and interaction with other bloggers, in the wake of threats made to another blogger. Tim O’Reilly is quoted as saying, “I do think we need some code of conduct around what is acceptable behaviour, I would hope that it doesn’t come through any kind of regulation, it would come through self-regulation.” So, fellow bloggers, take advice from Mr. O’Reilly and basically, treat your fellow bloggers as you would like to be treated. The Blog World and New Media Expo is coming! November 8 and 9, the Las Vegas Convention Center will host the inaugural Blog World and New Media Expo. And for those of you in the in crowd, the Expo will also host an opening night pajama party at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. Blogosphere
Blogosphere is a term that represents the community of all blogs. The word resembles several words of Greek origin such as logosphere (mind and world) and atmosphere (vapor and world). As is common with many words describing new phenomena or technology, the word creator simply took the Greek suffix for world and added blog to the front of this. Because the word sounds like many existing English words of similar construction, the word caught on relatively quickly. Continue reading this post…
